Who are you and where are you from?

My name is Teagan Maddux! I am an outdoor adventure photographer and content creator currently based in San Diego.

What National Park did you visit?

We spent the day exploring Yosemite National Park. Easily one of my all time favorite parks!

What were you most looking forward to about visiting this National Park?

I hadn’t been to Yosemite in almost two years! So I was really just looking forward to being there in general. Being in the presence of those grand granite walls and standing below raging waterfalls is exhilarating and humbling all at once. It’s definitely a feeling I find myself craving and Yosemite absolutely provides that!

What was your favorite part of the journey?

I’d say my favorite part of our journey was hiking up to Vernal Falls. It’s about a 4 mile hike round trip and it’s very very popular. For a good a reason though! I could stand and watch that waterfall all day if I could. It really takes your breath away. And I’m sure the steep mist covered staircase helps as well.

Do you have any tips for anyone planning on visiting this National Park?

I’d recommend getting there as early as possible. Sunrises are absolutely beautiful in the park no matter where you watch them. And since it is one of the most popular National Parks, avoid weekends if you can.

Did you find any hidden gems along the way?

I don’t think this is necessarily a hidden gem, but having a picnic in the meadow below Half Dome after a hike felt like we were in paradise. From now on picnics in that meadow will be mandatory every time I visit!

Did you learn anything new during your trip?

That I need to go to Yosemite more often.

What was your go-to song in the car during the trip?

We listened to Doo Doo Doo by Cherub and Sheep by Mt. Joy a bunch. Two of my all time favorite songs.

Meet RAD Artists Jessie & Katey

THE BASICS   Name: Jessie Unterhalter & Katey Truhn Residence: Baltimore, MD Occupation: Muralist team Jessie and Katey are a Baltimore-based artist team that transforms public spaces into playful and vibrant experiences. This dynamic duo has been turning urban areas into works of art for the past decade. And now, we’re teaming up with them to bring you our newest print - Chromatic Voyage. We sat down with the pair to learn more about their process and their latest collaboration with Rumpl. You guys have a signature, geometric style to your art. Has that always been your go-to style or has that evolved over time? Katey: I think it kind of happened over time because we were really interested in murals and the murals we started off making were a little wackier and didn't have as much form in them. Then it kind of made sense going with perfect geometry because we were scaling our designs up and needed a method to do that. It just work...

The first tie dye I saw was this beautiful woman wearing a tie dyed robe. She was gorgeous and I thought to myself, “I could do stuff with this”. She and her friend used to model for me when I was starting out. I'd set up a stage in the boutique and would wrap them in different exotic fabrics. I’d create live costumery and would sell them as we would make them. What was your first commission? There was a woman opening a meditation room and my first commission was to tie dye the meditation room. She wanted the walls and the floors to all be in one continuo...
